Abstract:The media landscape in Vietnam continues to improve and the government’s control measures are constantly advancing with the times，which is also a boost to the development of the times. The traditional media currently has a huge influence in Vietnam. The Radio and television are still the key source of information and entertainment for people. However，new media is developing rapidly and the mobile phone that accesses to the Internet has become an important tool for the Vietnamese to go online. The iteration of Internet technology has put pressure on the news production and supervision，and both the local media and the public are calling for press freedom. The Communist Party of Vietnam still has powerful control over the news dissemination，but at the same time it has also tried to improve the press freedom. The current media environment poses new challenges to Vietnam’s media supervision and social governance，and brings unprecedented opportunities as well.
