Abstract:The COVID-19 that swept the world in 2020 has had a significant impact on Papua New Guinea，with a sharp decline in economic indicators，heavy blows to foreign trade and tourism industries，a decrease in national fiscal revenue，a serious impact on people’s livelihood，and a deterioration in the social security situation. In 2021，on the one hand，the PNG government will make every effort to fight against the COVID-19，on the other hand，adjust its economic development ideas，strengthen cooperation with the international community，establish emerging special economic zones，make full use of foreign investment to develop the energy industry，power industry and transportation industry，and formulate tourism development plans with the help of rich tourism resources，so as to promote economic revitalization and stabilize social order.
