媒体报道情绪对印度尼西亚吸引外资的影响

Abstract:Based on a global event，language and intonation database，and bilateral foreign direct investment（FDI）data from 2000 to 2020，this paper examines the fluctuating trend of sentiment index of Indonesian media coverage on seven countries and its impact on attracting FDI from these countries. The results show that the number of Indonesian media reports on major FDI source countries has been increasing，but the average sentiment index of these reports shows a decreasing trend after 2010. The analysis based on Chinese samples shows that high-level official interaction，strategic synergy，financial and infrastructure cooperation have a positive impact on Indonesian media sentiment. Regression analysis of the relationship between sentiment index and FDI flows shows that media sentiment has a significant impact on FDI inflows，which is more positive media sentiment associated with more FDI flows. Furthermore，above relationship is moderated by Indonesia’s financial openness，financial competitiveness and level of technological innovation.
