Abstract:This paper analyzes the social development of Indonesia since 2020 from three aspects:population and employment,education and technology,infrastructure and people’s livelihood. This report points out that Indonesian population is on the stage of high-level of demographic bonus which labor participation rate has been continuously rising. But on the other hand,the highly uneven distribution of the population,the low-level average years of education of the labor force,and the slow transferring of agricultural labor limits the realization of such demographic bonus. Under the impact of COVID-19 outbreak,the unemployment problem goes worsened,especially for the new generation of labor force,which leads to an increasing reliance on informal employment. As for education development,Indonesia has made some progresses in recent years,but some long-standing problems remains unsolved,such as unbalance in educational resources distribution,insufficiency of teachers and funds,poor quality in some aspects of teaching. As for science and technology development,Indonesia is still facing the problem of R&D investment shortage and scientific talents shortage. At the aspects of infrastructure development,Indonesian government has attached great priority to infrastructure construction in order to strengthen economic development base and to improve people’s livelihood. Recently,government has increased budget for infrastructure investment,and has set up a number of PSN projects among which 128 projects has completed in the past 5 years,but still facing some difficulty in fund raising and land acquisition.
