Abstract:Over the nearly nine years since launched，the Belt and Road Initiative has produced remarkable results as China has forged increasingly close partnerships with countries along the route. With the deepening of international cooperation in various fields，the concept of green，low-carbon and sustainable development has been more and more fully reflected in the Belt and Road Initiative. High-quality Belt and Road development has now become the clear theme，which necessitates efforts to strengthen ecological environmental protection to combat climate change，and promote the development of green and low-carbon projects to realize green，low-carbon and sustainable development of the Belt and Road. In the past one or two years，China has made new progress in developing green partnerships，broadening green and low-carbon investments，improving environmental management of overseas projects，and strengthening related service support to step up international ecological cooperation. However，international ecological cooperation is facing many challenges including the growing urgency of addressing climate change，etc. The next step is to continue to promote international ecological cooperation in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and actively guide the engagement of relevant countries in the Belt and Road Initiative.
