Abstract:After calculation，the average social high-quality development index of Anhui Province is 0.4799，which is slightly higher than the one calculated in 2019. In the new index system of high-quality social development，Hefei ranks first，Ma’anshan and Wuhu come second and third respectively. Among them，the development of science and technology in Hefei has achieved outstanding performance. The Covid epidemic has had a significant impact on the development of Anhui，especially the impact on major tourist cities such as Huangshan and Chizhou，which cannot be ignored. Although the economic and social development of northern Anhui has been outstanding in recent years，as a result of the worse natural environment，in the new index system of high-quality social development，it still lags behind southern Anhui as a whole.
