Abstract:The commercialization of open source is essentially “delayed satisfaction”. In the initial stage，some profit margins are sacrificed in exchange for some user groups，and then diversified realization channels are explored，so as to achieve higher market concentration and faster growth rate. In 2021，the global start-ups based on open source projects were unprecedentedly active. The open source enterprises ushered in an IPO boom. It was common for them to obtain financing or listing，and the financing amount and valuation/market value continued to refresh the upper limit. China’s open source has been highly concerned by international venture capital and private capital，and has become the hottest investment track at present. The activity of business activities can feed the development and growth of open source projects，further stimulate the prosperity of open source communities，and promote the development of open source software at a faster speed and higher quality.
