Abstract:The automobile industry has the characteristics of long industrial chain，wide coverage and high degree of internationalization. It is an important pillar industry of my country’s economic development. However，due to the late start of the industry，my country’s traditional automobile industry is weak as a whole，and it has been at the low end of the automobile industry value chain for a long time. Key core technologies，such as engines，are highly dependent on countries such as the United States，Japan，and Germany. The security of the traditional automobile industry chain is facing great threats. The emergence of new energy vehicles provides an opportunity for my country to achieve “change lanes and overtake”. Under the situation that traditional energy sources such as oil are increasingly in short supply and environmental problems are increasingly serious，traditional fuel vehicles are gradually withdrawing from the stage of history；at the same time，with the rapid advancement of the global “dual carbon” goal，the new energy vehicle industry has ushered in unprecedented development opportunities. After years of development，my country’s new energy vehicle industry has initially formed a complete industrial chain. In order to further promote the healthy and stable development of my country’s new energy vehicle industry，it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the safety of the new energy vehicle industry chain in a timely manner. This report firstly identifies five key links including upstream lithium resources，power batteries，special components，midstream vehicle manufacturing，and downstream charging piles，followed by policy risks，industrial competitiveness，industrial control，industrial external dependence，and industrial sustainability. The security of my country’s new energy vehicle industry chain is systematically assessed in terms of six major indicators，including development capability and industrial growth. The evaluation concluded that，except for special parts and components，the links of lithium resources，power batteries，vehicle manufacturing and charging piles are all in the light police level，and the overall new energy vehicle industry is in the medium police level.
