Abstract:In recent years，South African government has promoted poverty reduction，employment and social equality，inclusive growth and sustainable economic and social development by enhancing STI capabilities and developing “digital economy” and “bioeconomy”. The government has drafted strategies and plans to develop STI，and has made remarkable progress in such areas as astronomy，paleoanthropology，aerospace，biomedicine，and advanced manufacturing. At the same time，South African government attaches importance to international cooperation and attracts global talents. In particular，it has carried out a batch of visible cooperation projects with China and other BRICS countries.
