Abstract:Against the backdrop of the new industrial revolution and the global COVID-19 pandemic，STI will have great significance for BRICS countries transforming into Industry 4.0，during which STI cooperation among BRICS countries could play a major role. The development and application of Industry 4.0 technologies are crucial to advancing the new industrial revolution. Key technologies represented by blockchain，which have been adopted in the supply chain，will support supply chains in a more comprehensive way in the era of Industry 4.0. Taking technology challenges faced by India’s manufacturing sector as an example，this chapter explains the status quo of STI in BRICS countries and their prospects. Besides，the transforming industries and constantly developing industrial technologies require more efforts on personnel training for BRICS countries. In short，BRICS countries should strengthen cooperation in the field of STI，and join hands to meet challenges of the new industrial revolution.
