2020年中国可持续发展评价报告

Abstract:Based on China sustainable development evaluation index system，the report carries out a comprehensive and systematic data validation and analysis of China，its provinces，large and medium-sized cities in their sustainable development in 2019，along with a ranking of them. Verification and analysis of national sustainable development index system data show that steady progress has been made in China’s sustainable development. That is，over the past 9 years，the index of sustainable development has decreased first and then increased steadily year by year，showing a stable economic performance and improved living standards. Amid the progress in environmental governance and protection，there is still room for the resource and environment carrying capacity to improve，and the impact of consumption and emission on economic and social activities remained a problem. Verification and analysis of provincial sustainable development index system data indicate that the eastern coastal provinces still rank high in sustainable development. Beijing，Shanghai，Zhejiang，Jiangsu，Guangdong，Anhui，Hubei，Chongqing，Shandong and Henan topped the list. In central China Anhui province ranked the highest，while Chongqing ranked top in the western China. Verification and analysis of city sustainable development index system data indicate that Beijing，Zhuhai，Shenzhen and eastern coastal cities still rank high in sustainable development. The overall top 10 cities are Zhuhai，Beijing，Shenzhen，Hangzhou，Guangzhou，Qingdao，Wuxi，Nanjing，Shanghai and Xiamen. Zhuhai ranked first for three consecutive years. The report analyzes the challenges brought by the epidemic to the sustainable development of China and the whole world，and the global response to the outbreak. It concludes that，given the spread of the virus around the world，China needs to response systematically to implement the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Further，China should strike an effective balance among economy，society，and environment to achieve a strong，inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
