Abstract:The French-speaking countries of West Africa attach importance to sustainable development，but the overall progress on the path of sustainable development is limited. Women are important participants in achieving sustainable development in the region，and they play an active role in the three major areas of economic development，environmental protection and social development in West Africa. Therefore，if the region wants to achieve sustainable development，it must pay attention to the development of women in the region. However，due to the low level of political participation and education，the coronavirus pandemic，climate change and other unfavorable factors，women in the region still face many challenges in the process of participating in local sustainable development，which still require the attention of governments and the international community.
