Abstract:Tokyo is one of the most developed cities in the world. In recent years，the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has strongly supported digital transformation （DX）. In 2017，the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced the “Tokyo Metropolitan ICT Strategy”，which provides a lot of support for education，industry，medical care，tourism，and government administration. In February 2020，it released the “Smart Tokyo Strategy”，aiming at forming a Smart Tokyo in 2040，hoping to enhance the global competitiveness of the city and the entire country through the implementation of the strategy. In April of this year，the Tokyo Metropolitan Government established the Tokyo Metropolitan Digital Service Bureau first to the Japan government to promote the use of digital power in administrative management and greatly improve the service quality of the Government. This report outlines the development of Tokyo’s digital economy，and introduces Tokyo’s digital technology and its application in its urban construction，as well as laws and policies for future development.
