Abstract:The establishment of the ASEAN Community is a milestone in the integration of ASEAN countries. The ASEAN Community consists of three pillars. First，it is the ASEAN Economic Community，the priority of the three，which manifests outstanding achievements. Second，it is the ASEAN Political-Security Community which has made headway in recent years. Third，it is the ASEAN Social-Cultural Community，which has been receiving increasing attention in recent years. Although the ASEAN Community is faced with various internal challenges，the development process is irreversible. Thanks to the open nature of the ASEAN Community，China has also been taking an active part in its building，which in turn boosts all-around cooperation between China and ASEAN in the fields of economy，politics，security，society and culture，but meanwhile brings challenges to China regarding the “South China Sea issue”. In face of the mixed influences from the ASEAN Community building，China has put forward several constructive proposals for the benefit of both sides，and has already put them into practice. By grasping opportunities and coping with challenges，China and ASEAN have jointly promoted the continuous progress of their bilateral ties.
