Abstract:Electronic information industry is the most vigorous emerging high-tech industry in the world，and has gradually become the core of national trade competition and the marked symbol of the international competitiveness. This article decomposes the value chain of China’s electronic information industry from the perspective of intensive and extensive margin to analyze the status of China’s electronic information industry in the world. It is found that China’s electronic information industry is currently positioned in the crucial stage of development，in which product exports are obviously affected by external shocks. The intensive margin presents an ongoing slow growth，while the extensive margin shows an inverted V-shape growth. with large fluctuations. Therefore，the electronic information industry in China is in urgent need of industrial transformation and upgrading.
