2020年中国—东盟共建“一带一路”：发展、挑战与展望

Abstract:The world is currently undergoing profound changes. The global governance system is challenged by sluggish global economy and prevailing protectionism and even worse，this trend is accelerated by the 2020 Covid-19 outbreak. However，the cooperation between China and ASEAN and its Member States has bucked the trend，and reaped remarkable results in the fields of political mutual trust，economic and trade exchanges，and anti-epidemic cooperation. At the same time，the Trump administration has made continuous moves in the past year. With Covid-19 as an inducement，the international opposition forces headed by the United States are accelerating the adjustment of relations with China，and the anti-China front is stepping up construction. These changes，coupled with the remaining issues with ASEAN，have brought more uncertainty to the future China-ASEAN cooperation in building the “Belt and Road”. It is urgent for China to develop new common grounds with ASEAN in terms of shared interests while carefully handling China-US relations. Multi-party cooperation can be strengthened in various fields through various channels，with focus on public health and digitalization，so as to lay a solid foundation for China and ASEAN to jointly build the “Belt and Road” and build a closer China-ASEAN community with shared future.
