Abstract:In 2020，the global sales of new energy vehicles reached 3.284 million vehicles，with a market penetration rate of 4.3% and a year-on-year increase of 43.8%. In terms of vehicle models，pure electric vehicle market still occupied the main force in the world，while plug-in hybrid vehicles were showing high growth. In terms of regions，many countries have achieved large-scale promotion of new energy vehicles. Affected by many factors such as carbon emission regulations，fiscal and tax support policies，European markets such as Germany were growing rapidly. In 2020，the total sales of new energy vehicles in Europe reached 1.407 million vehicles，with a year-on-year increase of 137.1% and a global share of 42.9%. It is expected that the European new energy vehicle market will further grow in the future as the European Union’s carbon emission regulations becomes strict，fiscal and tax support policies are promulgated and other factors occur. At the same time，the shortage of chips may continue for a period of time，which even constrains the high growth trend of the global market. But in the long run，the global new energy vehicle industry has great development potential.
