Abstract:This piece of writing by Jacques Derrida is the preface to The Truth in Painting，an influential work on art and aesthetics，in which the following statements are included. Paul Cézanne，one of the greatest expressionist painters，claimed that he will render the truth in painting he owed. This is not a constative utterance，but a performative utterance，a promise，which stresses on the singularity of the style，the wisdom，and the trait of a painter，especially breaks through the framework of traditional metaphysics based on the logocentrism. So Deconstruction of frames is the declaration of artistic right to be freed from any constraints.
