文章摘要：除了中国的一些文学史家和批评家，其他国家的学者很少关注茅盾的文学批评和作品中的神话主题。如茅盾的短篇小说《参孙的复仇》（1942）取自《圣经·士师记》第14～16章所述故事。在本文中我想指出他的文学创作及批评中神话主题的来源和材料。由于政治、道德和美学上的重要性，我花了不少精力研究《圣经》中参孙的故事及其在茅盾小说《参孙的复仇》中的改写。
