浅析阿尔巴尼亚的宗教宽容

Abstract:In his book “The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order”，Samuel Huntington puts forward the view of clashes of civilizations，arguing that cultural and ideological differences will become the fuse of conflicts between the Eastern and Western civilizations；the dividing lines between them will become the future battle fronts. This view has been verified in many parts of the world，especially in the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However，his argument does not apply that well when it meets the case of Albania，which is also the point between Eastern and Western civilizations. Albania，which is influenced by Catholicism，Orthodox Church，and Islam，has witnessed no serious religious conflicts in it entire history. The people of different religions in various communities live together peacefully. This harmony in diversity is attributable to both historical and cultural factors as well as the national character，tradition，and nationalist movements. This article focuses on the history，traditional culture and ethnic characteristics，and nation-state building，in order to identify the main reasons for this religious tolerance and harmony，and to predict whether this could be sustained.
