太平洋岛国孔子学院建设面临的挑战和机遇——以萨摩亚为例

Abstract:Language serves to pave the way for“the Belt and Road Initiative”，and language communication helps to establish mutual connectivity.With China's“the Belt and Road Initiative”extending to Pacific Island Countries，the development of Confucius Institutes in this region is gaining more attention.Based on specific conditions of Pacific Island Countries in general and current status of relationship between China and Pacific Island Countries，taking into consideration of influences from external and internal environments，this article，taking the development of Confucius Institute in Samoa as an example，analyzes specific challenges and opportunities faced by the development of Confucius Institutes in Pacific Island Countries，with preliminary countermeasures suggested in regard to coping with challenges and grasping opportunities.
