科威特小说《沃斯米娅跃出大海》中的海洋意识分析

Abstract:The novel Wasmiyya Comes Out of the Sea is the representative work of the famous Kuwaiti female writer Laila al-Othman，it follows the author’s consistent creative themes：exposing the shackles of traditional secularism to the people，especially women，and calling for women’s liberation. At the same time，the strong ocean consciousness and deep ocean complex in the novel also make it inextricably linked with marine literature and become one of the representative works of Arab marine literature. This essay studies the ocean consciousness contained in the novel and analyzes the artistic functions of ocean consciousness in the three aspects of character image formation，social background reflection and human-sea relationship，and explores the author’s emotions and philosophies behind the marine objects to deepen understanding of the novel.
