Abstract:Since 2007 the world economy has suffered most serious recession since 1930s.The financial crisis has great negative impact on the world tourism industry.The growth of visitors slowed down，and their consuming ability declined greatly.In this background，the casino industries in many countries suffered，and the casino industries in Las Vegas and Atlantic City has negative growth for more than two years running.In contrast，the impact on Macau’s casino industry is minor.In 2008，Macau’s gaming revenue has increased 31% than that in 2008.In the first six months of 2009，there is negative growth，however，the growth rate picked up strongly again in the third quarter.Thus the whole year can still keep positive growth with estimated rate of 5% to 10%.The financial crisis，however，has great impact on the Venetian group operating in Macau and US.Macau is still facing some challenges，including the restriction on visitors to Macau on individual arrangement，competitions from neighboring countries.
