Abstract:In the year 2012, Macau's economy continues its rapid growth, but there are many social and economic problems, such as simple economic structure, large income inequality, price inflation, etc. resulting in discontent among the people and causing trouble for the government of Macau SAR. The government has taken various measures to cope with the difficulties. To meet societal development, the SAR also made reforms in political institutions. At present, enhancing regional cooperation and industrial diversification, establishing livelihood security measures with a long-term mechanism, and strengthening people's participation in public affairs and government supervision would have practical significance in response to people's appeals.
