2019年中国科技创新发展报告

Abstract:In 2006，China set the goal of joining the ranks of innovative countries by 2020. Between 2015 and 2019，China’s competitiveness in science，technology and innovation （STI） has seen steady progress，taking the lead among BRICS countries. According to the Global Innovation Index （GII），China’s ranking rose from 22nd in 20l7 to 14th in 2019. In the past three years，China has made significant advances in the building of an innovative country. The reform of science and technology management system has been deepened，research-friendly culture and atmosphere has been fostered，R&D investment has increased，and a number of landmark R&D outcomes have been achieved. The commercialization of research results is more efficient，giving a strong boost to the fostering of new drivers of growth in China. In recent years，China has maintained active participation in international STI cooperation，especially with other BRICS countries both under the BRICS framework and through bilateral mechanisms，engaged in fruitful efforts in mechanism building，research cooperation and people-to-people exchanges in the field of science and technology，contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
