Abstract:The node cities in the “Belt and Road” and the Yangtze River economic belt are of great value in coordinating the transformation and upgrading of domestic industries and strengthening regional economic links. This study examines the spatial economic links between cities and finds a “power-law distribution” feature by means of multivariate traffic flow method,and forms 6 types of cities that connect the “Belt and Road” and the Yangtze River economic belt. On this basis,according to the different types of node cities,this paper analyzes the four challenges faced by the integration of the “Belt and Road” and the Yangtze River economic belt,and forms the train of thought and specific path for the integration of node city docking into the national top-level design,including enhancing the economic opening function of each node city,the function of channel hub,the function of gathering elements,the function of external communication,and the comprehensive service function. This study also explores the export-oriented economic development mode suitable for the differentiation of six types of node cities,including innovation driven,market driven,traffic driven,cost driven,efficiency driven,characteristic resource driven,etc. Finally,from the perspective of inter regional coordination mechanism,inter regional interconnection mechanism and factor guarantee mechanism,the safeguard mechanism of node city integration into the “Belt and Road” and the Yangtze River economic belt is formed.
