Abstract:Destabilizing factors increased in 2018. The murder of an investigative journalist triggered political crises such as the resignation of the prime minister and cabinet reshuffle. The murder also lead to the largest protest in the past three decades. In terms of economy，Slovakia continued its momentum of growth. The unemployment rate continued to fall，the fiscal deficit decreased to a record low，and growth was expected. In terms of international relations，Slovakia continued to implement the pro-European foreign policy. Despite diplomatic crises，it made breakthroughs in multilateral diplomacy. Under the “16+1” cooperation framework，Slovakia and China continue to maintain good bilateral relations and have made significant progress in the field of scientific and technological cooperation.
