Abstract:From 2016 to the first half of 2017，the domestic political situation in Albania is basically stable，but the struggle of parties is still fierce. The judicial reform for the accession to EU has been promoted. The bilateral and multilateral exchanges have become more active. As a strong ally of the United States，on the one hand，Albania has participated actively in the NATO’s operations to enhance her regional influence，has responded positively to the Berlin Process for joining the EU soon，on the other hand，she has noticed and contained the influence of Russia and Turkey. Albanian relations with her surrounding countries and the overall security situation are stable，but the sensitive factors have emerged，internal and external pressures still exist. The domestic economy has grown rapidly，the progress has been made in tourism，infrastructure，energy and mineral resources and trade etc，and the employment has been increased. In terms of culture，this year is known as the Ismail Kadare’s cultural year because of his 80 years old birthday. In education，the reform is still at an exploratory stage because the educational reform initiatives，such as enrollment and admission of universities，and those in financial management have been debated. Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 16 + 1 Cooperation，the relationship between China and Albania have made continuous progress in various fields，such as political mutual trust，trade，tourism，humanities exchanges and local cooperation etc. The traditional friendship between them has been promoted in an all-round way and their pragmatic cooperation has been arisen to a new level.
