2018年巴西主流媒体涉华报道分析

Abstract:The mainstream media in Brazil has a broad audience and a high degree of social trust. Their China-related reports have profoundly affected the Brazilian people’s perception of China，holding a significant influence on China’s national image in Brazil and the promotion of China-Brazil relations. After a comprehensive consideration of morphological characteristics，difficulty of data acquisition and analysis and representativeness of media，the present work selects four mainstream media（Folha de São Paulo，O Globo，O Tempo and O Estado de São Paulo）as the research object，setting up a database based on official tweets published by the chosen media. And，with the help of the corpus software AntConc3.3.5b，parting from variants like the reporting frequency，theme distribution，popularity distribution and language organization，this paper analyzes the main features of the coverage on China by Brazilian media in 2018 and the major changes relative to 2017，trying to propose three suggestions in order to deepen China-Brazil strategic mutual trust and consolidate the “mature and active relationship between large developing countries” through the media channel：to open up all-round promoting campaign with the economy as the main axis；to explore the potential of new media，strengthen the spread of Chinese culture；to adopt more targeted public diplomacy strategies respecting differences between each media.
