Abstract:The economic growth rate in the West Asia and Africa region continues to be low due to the downward trend in the global economy. Economic growth in West Asia and North Africa is projected to decline to 2.0% in 2023 from 5.6% in 2022. Sub-Saharan Africa declines from 4.0% to 3.3%. Slower growth in major economies，climate and geopolitical shocks could lead to a spike in food and energy prices，with very different impacts on oil exporters and importers in the region. More than half of the low-income developing countries will continue to face financing difficulties and debt-servicing pressures amid rising debt-servicing costs. The invitation to join the BRICS in 2023，such as Saudi Arabia，Egypt，Iran and Ethiopia，will provide new opportunities for these countries to expand the opportunities for further economic cooperation.
