Abstract:Infectious diseases have always been a major threat to global public health security. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has made the world more aware of the shared responsibility of all countries to safeguard global public health security. The purpose of this report is to emphasize that China upholding the belief of building a global community of common health for mankind in safeguarding global public health security，and to point out that official health development assistance，mainly through bilateral cooperation，has been the main mode of China’s previous participation in global public health security governance. Amid the COVID-19 epidemic，China has made concerted efforts in international cooperation against the epidemic through multilateral cooperation. This report further takes China’s accession to the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access （COVAX） as an example to analyze the path options for the provision of COVID-19 vaccines as a global public good through multilateral health cooperation mechanisms. Finally，from the global health strategy planning，diversification of governance main body，adherence to multilateral cooperation mechanism，strengthening global health talent reserves，the report comes up with China’s global health security cooperation strategy，and advances the significance of adhering to multilateral health cooperation mechanism in public health emergencies，thereby providing decision-making basis for China’s participation in global public health security in post COVID-19 era.
