对2020年俄美关系的回顾与展望

Abstract:In 2020，Russia and the US make a certain degree of cooperation in fighting the Covid-19 virus，but they still have a fierce competition on issues like strategic weapons，geopolitics，Navalny，and cyber sovereignty，among which the extension of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty is the only bright spot. Trump undoubtedly has a certain pro-Putin and pro-Russian color and his political views belong to the categories of conservatism and nationalism. But given the hindrance within the Republican and from the Democrat，Russia-US relations have neither improved nor deteriorated in the last 4 years. Biden is apparently different from Trump in terms of views on Putin and Russia. His diplomatic policy towards Russia will be tougher overall but would not rule out partial cooperation. For Russia，Putin seeks cooperation on the one hand，and persist in struggle on the other. In other words，Russia is fully psychologically prepared for the continued indifference and even deterioration of Russia-US relations.
