Abstract:Since 2021，Iraq has completed its sixth parliamentary election，expanded oil exports and promoted active and pluralistic diplomacy. However，these achievements have not changed the backward status and predicament of the country. From the international point of view，the United States and Iran are still the main players affecting the situation in Iraq，the neighboring Arab countries are also increasing their investment in Iraq year by year to enhance their influence. Domestically，old problems such as factional fighting，political deadlock，security risks，economic stagnation and lack of social governance are piling up. Moreover，affected by the Ukraine Crisis and climate change，food security，water security and environmental security have become new challenges that Iraq must face. The road ahead for reconstruction and development in Iraq will be more difficult.
