Abstract:This paper reviews the political development process of Southeast Asian states from the perspective of inter-ethnic politics.Inter-ethnic politics is an important component in the process of political development.The formation of inter-ethnic political relations in Southeast Asian states has a long history.Especially since modern times，Southeast Asian states have become the gathering place of East and West civilizations，and have also absorbed and accepted many immigrants from other different countries and nationalities in the world.With the post-war independence of Southeast Asian states and the establishment of citizenship by various countries，profound changes have taken place in the treatment of inter-ethnic relations in citizenship，political system arrangement and national governance，which have exerted an important influence on the political development and political transformation of Southeast Asian states.This paper combines comparative politics method and cases study to make a tentative analysis of the development of inter-ethnic politics in some representative countries in Southeast Asia，such as Myanmar，Singapore，Indonesia，Philippines，Thailand and other states.
