浅析《拜客训示》之“净”与“等”——会院生活中的传教文化

Abstract:The notion of “净”is emphasized for a large number of times in Instruction pour les visites de mandarins. “净”is a criterion emphasized by the Hughes of “master”，at many situations such as using robe worn for a religious or face cloth in the section of 《管堂中事》，recording about the standard of the food and utensil in the section of《厨房的事》，arrangements in the section of《茶房的事》and《衣服帽房的事》. As a result，“净”is a criterion of life in China for the Hughes in that period. In fact，“净”not only is a part of life but also has a meaning in the philosophical sense. For Catholic Church，baptism is a significant religious action. On the other hand，“净”is also one key part in Buddhism. By the way，the status of Buddhism is extremely higher than that of Catholic Church in 16th and 17th century in China. As the same level of “净”，“等”is also an important notion. As shown in Instruction pour les visites de mandarins，“等”，that means degree，is also one notion emphasized by the Hughes of “master”at the situations of reception and tea service. With a deeply study，the notion is not only in Catholic Church. Oppositely，the notion of “等”is emphasized less through there is the difference between the degrees. The notion is obtained from the observation about Chinese society and is a formation of using of Chinese culture.
