“一带一路”建设五周年：回顾与展望

Abstract:In September and October of 2013，Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Kazakhstan and Indonesia respectively，proposing the initiative of constructing the “Silk Road Economic Belt”and“the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road”. The year of 2018 marks the fifth anniversary of the creation of“the Belt and Road”Initiative. Through top-level design，bilateral and multilateral cooperation as well as public diplomacy，“the Belt and Road”construction has made tremendous progress. Fruitful achievements in the areas including the overall layout，development strategy synergies，infrastructure connectivity，trade facilitation，financial cooperation，cultural exchange，energy and resources cooperation as well as ecological environment protection have been gained based on the framework of “Four Beams and Eight Pillars”. Instead of a flash in pan，“the Belt and Road”construction is a long-lasting cooperation framework which could overcome successive obstacles. Promoting the three-step strategy continuously，China should integrate international cooperation into its own reform and opening-up policy and contribute to a deepening，inclusive and sustainable development favorable to the whole world.
