“21世纪海上丝绸之路”框架下中斯经济关系的重塑与发展

Abstract:With the implementation of the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” initiative，the importance of Sri Lanka for China’s international development strategy is constantly rising. It is beneficial for enhancing the performance of bilateral cooperation and promoting the realization of the development strategies of both countries to explore the reshaping and deepening of the economic relations between China and Sri Lanka under the new development background.Based on the existing literature and data，this paper summarizes the development stages and their characteristics of Sino-Sri Lanka’s economic relations，analyzes its performances and problems，and points out that the Sino-Sri Lanka’s economic cooperation has actually entered a new stage with the adjustments of the development strategies of China and Sri Lanka and the changes of the surrounding geopolitical patterns of both countries since 2013. In order to further deepen bilateral economic cooperation，this paper should seek the areas of common concerns in analyzing the development strategies of China and Sri Lanka respectively，then help Sri Lanka to reshape the national competitive advantages selectively，so as to expand the space of Sino-Sri Lanka’s economic cooperation at a higher level，and provide a reference for cooperation between China and other “key small countries”.
