Abstract:The conditions affecting renewable energy policy-making have shifted dramatically within a very short time span，including effective support policies，high learning rates and rapidly decreasing technology costs. These conditions have prompted policy makers to reconsider their support policies and resulted in innovative policy designs and a new generation of support policies which are compatible with the ongoing transformation.This report aims at providing an overview of selected challenges and policy responses to address them. A framework is presented after assessing the impacts and risks of these policies，which allows policy makers to evaluate the suitability of specific policies to different contexts.
