Abstract:Since the Iranian Islamic Revolution，the Islamic sectarian relations have evolved from the intensification to the lower degree of confliction，and to the hiyhly degree of confliction between each other. The divisions and disputes between the Sunnis and the Shiites on the Islamic doctrine and other aspects do not inevitably lead to the sectarian conflict which has mainly been induced by outside dynamics. The political struggle for power intensified by the democratic process，especially by the fundamental change in Middle East since 2011，has played a leading role in the rise of sectarian tensions. Besides，the sectarian disputes have been intentionally utilized and politicized by the extremism or terrorism，and hence been inflamed in the confrontational way. In addition，some conservative thoughts of the Wahhabism have also been related to this issue. The sectarian conflict，intertwined with other kind of violent actions，has have and will have negative impacts on the Middle East security in the long term.
