Abstract:African economy，as a whole，continued its steady growth in 2013，but varied significantly from country to country，and was accompanied by easing inflation across the continent，with fiscal and current-account deficits widening and external debts increasing. The main dynamics of the steady growth of Africa comes from the strong local investment and consumption demands，relatively stable prices of commodities in international markets and the elements of China as an example. All the key sources can be expected to play their roles in future in providing solid support to a brighter situation for African economy in 2014 and 2015. The major downside risks and uncertainties for Africa’s economic development in future may include：political instability and security problems；severe income disparity and high unemployment internally；growth deceleration in emerging economies and tapering of QE by US externally.
