Abstract:The global geopolitical conflicts in 2023-2024 will be characterized by a new high increase in the number of conflicts. The competition among major powers has aggravated the geopolitical color of global armed conflicts，and the trend of internal wars in countries spreading to the internationalization has become more obvious. In 2023，four conflicts were classified as major armed conflicts，namely the Myanmar Civil War，the Sudanese Civil War，the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict，and the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict. Affected by the increase in global geopolitical conflicts，the scale and number of military exercises of the world’s major military powers increased in 2023-2024，and the targets of military exercises were more targeted. In terms of military expenditure，global military expenditure will increase for the ninth consecutive year in 2023，reaching a record high. The United States and China are still the two countries with the largest military expenditure in the world. At the level of national defense strategy，the return of geopolitics has led to the rise in the importance of traditional security threats in national defense strategy，and the national defense strategies of the world’s major military powers are more targeted. With the development of information technology and network technology，national defense strategies have shown the research and development and exploration of emerging technologies，strengthening military deployment in emerging fields.
