Abstract:After three years of epidemic prevention and control，the COVID-19 epidemic in Southeast Asia has entered a low-level epidemic. In 2022 and 2023，the Philippines，Malaysia，Thailand，East Timor，and Cambodia held national elections，achieving a handover of power，and these countries entered a period of relative stability in their political situation. Against the backdrop of weak global economic recovery，Southeast Asian countries are facing an upward trend and maintaining a sustained recovery trend. Some countries’ economic growth rates have exceeded official expectations，but the driving force for economic growth has weakened，external demand has significantly shrunk，and the prospects for economic growth in various countries still remain uncertain. ASEAN has accelerated the construction of a political security community，an economic community，and a social cultural community，and has planned a vision for an ASEAN community after 2025.
