中老铁路开通一周年：意义、挑战与建议

Abstract:On December 3，2021，China-Laos railway opened to traffic，and the vision of Laos from “a land-locked country” to “a land-linked country” has become a reality. China-Laos railway has realized the transformation from the construction of transportation channels to the construction of economic corridors. The opening and operation of China-Laos railway has pull effect，demonstration effect and spillover effect. China-Laos railway has strengthened economic，social and people to people and cultural cooperation between China and Laos，which is of great significance in accelerating the construction of the China-Laos economic corridor and building a community of common destiny between China and Laos，deepening cooperation in the Greater Mekong Subregion，and promoting the “the Belt and Road” Initiative. As the flagship project of China-Laos cooperation，China-Laos railway has driven the development along the line，but its driving role has not yet been fully played，its demonstration role needs to be further released，and its radiation role needs to be further enhanced. The operation of the China Laos railway and the development along the line should be guided by deepening strategic communication，promoting “hard link” “soft link” and “heart link” to go hand in hand，and promoting the coordinated and interactive development of the regions.
