Abstract:The Biden administration’s agricultural policy agenda includes:building secure and resilient agricultural supply chains;advancing the national hunger, nutrition and health strategy;advancing innovation in biotechnology and bionic manufacturing;domestic food aid;implementing the global food security strategy. Since Biden took office,China and the United States have maintained a high-level interaction in the agricultural sector, and the position of the trade balancer has become increasingly stable. After the 2022 mid-term elections,Sino-U.S.agricultural cooperation maintains the current pattern of competition and cooperation. Among them, cooperation and potential cooperation topics include:high-level interaction in the field of agriculture, agricultural trade, agricultural investment, agricultural technology cooperation, formulation and improvement of rules, agricultural cooperation under the third-party framework, etc. Despite agricultural cooperation between China and the United States has strategic significance,we still face challenges such as unreasonable repression by the United States, reduced high-level interaction, and deteriorating public opinion at the present stage. To address these challenges,China need to accelerate its efforts to become an agricultural power and consolidate the foundation of food security;intensify high-level agricultural talks between China and the United States;promote cooperation between Chinese and U.S.agricultural provinces/states;build a secure and stable grain supply chain in China.
