Abstract:Since 2022,under the influence of multiple factors such as competition among major powers, geopolitical conflicts, and further leftward shifts in regional political landscape,Latin America’s foreign relations have shown some new developments and changes. The competition between major powers in Latin America will become increasingly obvious. The United States and Russia have increased diplomatic games in Latin America, and Latin American countries’ positions on the Ukraine crisis have been greatly tested. Interventionism has been thwarted, and regional strategic autonomy is constantly increasing. The relationship between Colombia and Venezuela is gradually recovering. Regional integration is expected to accelerate by new impetus. More attention is being paid to non-traditional security in the Western Hemisphere. The Biden administration’s policy towards Latin America is becoming increasingly clear, the U.S.-Latin American relationship will undergo new adjustments. China-Latin America relations continue to progress steadily, facing new opportunities for development. Looking forward, the game of great powers and the continuous impact of the new round of “Pink Tide” are important perspectives for observing international relations in Latin America. The strategic contraction of the United States in Latin America will be inevitable. China and Latin America cooperation urgently needs to be improved and upgraded. South America may become an independent geopolitical region.
