Abstract:The Tang Dynasty cursive manuscript Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature,also known as the Dunhuang’s version of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature,is an important publication of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature. The generation of Japan’s studies of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature is closely connected to Studies of Dunhuang Caves from the beginning. The association is the residual volume of the Tang cursive manuscript of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature unearthed from Dunhuang. The papers published by Suzuki Torao in Japan in 1926 and 1929 “Collation of Dunhuang’s Version of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature” and “Collation of Huang Shulin’s Ersion of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature” marked the prosperity of modern Japanese Chinese studies and studies of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature. After that,Toda Hiroshi’s “Complement of Collation of Huang Shulin’s Version of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature” and “Proofreading the Data of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature”,and Shiba Rokuro’s “Fan Wenlan’s Correction of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literaturet” and The first four notes of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature further promoted Suzuki Torao’s works. In particular,Shiba also explained the words and sentences in details,which contribute to construct a Japanese style of collation which shows the historical status and value of Dunhuang’s version of Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature.
