Abstract:As an emerging entity and developing country,Turkey is also a country with a relatively developed manufacturing industry. Based on its own economic development stage and resource endowment of rich in coal, and short of oil and gas,Turkey has put forward the strategic slogan of “independent energy, strong Turkey” and successively promulgated a series of policies and regulations to gradually promote the development of renewable energy and clean energy,to obtain the achievement of emission reduction and carbon neutrality targets. Under the leadership of the government,Turkey’s energy transformation mainly has two paths, one is to reduce energy consumption and improve energy efficiency, that is,from the huge energy consumption of the power sector,to promote the clean and low-carbon transformation of the energy field, and then reduce the proportion of coal resources in the overall energy consumption structure, and promote the clean,low-carbon and efficient use of energy. The second is to diversify the energy mix, encourage and support the private sector to enter the field of renewable energy and clean energy through market-based mechanisms, and actively participate in global governance to address climate change. As an important consumer, transit country and supplier of global energy,Turkey has become one of the fastest growing energy markets in the world, and the issue of Turkey’s carbon neutrality action and sustainable development deserves to explore.
