Abstract:This report focuses on the investment activities of Beijing-based enterprises in the countries along the “Belt and Road” initiative，employing a methodology that combines comprehensive data analysis with case studies. It delves into the investment scale，geographic distribution，industry dynamics，and the primary challenges and opportunities faced by these enterprises in 2022. The study reveals that the investment strategies of Beijing enterprises in the “Belt and Road” countries are influenced by various factors，including geopolitical dynamics，global economic environment，and market opportunities. Particularly，the Russia-Ukraine conflict，U.S. sanctions against Chinese enterprises，the Western criticism of the “Belt and Road” initiative，and pressures regarding environmental protection and green transformation significantly impact their investment decisions. Despite these challenges，the investment of Beijing enterprises in the “Belt and Road” countries shows signs of recovery，indicating their ability to effectively adapt to the unpredictable international environment and maintain investment vitality amidst concurrent risks and opportunities. In light of these findings，the paper proposes a series of strategies and recommendations，such as strengthening international interactions，building innovative cooperation platforms，enhancing service and support systems，and reinforcing enterprise risk management and environmental awareness. These measures aim to help Beijing enterprises better adapt to the complexities of the international environment，thereby achieving high-quality investment development in the countries participating in the “Belt and Road” initiative.
