Abstract:In 2022，Guangzhou fully implemented the requirements of epidemic prevention，economic stability and safe development. The economy pushed ahead under pressure，which further laid a solid foundation for high-quality development. The total value of foreign trade set a new record，with new business forms playing a key supporting role. The foreign investment was stabilized through multiple measures，which optimized industries with concentrated resources. The outward investment made steady progress and two-way mutually beneficial cooperation continued to advance. The development of international comprehensive transport hub accelerated and the comprehensive three-dimensional transport network improved. The forming of international exchanges carrier accelerated，and various high-end resources gathered. The “Hundred-city+” plan of sister cities has been implemented steadily，with good exchanges and improved quality and efficiency. Guangzhou led the multilateral exchange of international cities，and extended advanced governance experience. The city story was widely spread，creating a window for the world to understand China. Cultural and people-to-people exchanges were diverse，and technology empowered new forms and concepts. Guangzhou had a stable performance in major global city evaluations. The ranking showed that Guangzhou’s advantages in scientific and technological innovation remain stable. Digital economy plus cross-border e-commerce has gradually become a new advantage of international business center，and comfortable environment attracted more talents to Guangzhou. With profound changes in the global order，international cooperation is leading the way. Chinese modernization is making solid progress，and opening up is taking place at a higher level. Hence，Guangzhou should strengthen the driving force of high-quality development with a higher level of institutional opening-up，carry forward momentum with the “five external linkages”，support it with a stronger international comprehensive hub function，enrich its vitality with a wider range of international exchanges，promote it with deeper cultural exchanges and communication at the city level，and constantly explore the urban path of Chinese modernization.
