Abstract:In the new wave of industrial revolution，the digital economy has become an important engine of global economic growth. The digital economy cooperation between China and Malaysia is just in time. In recent years，with the efforts of the two governments，China and Malaysia have achieved fruitful results in digital economic cooperation in e-commerce，digital infrastructure，and digital research and development，demonstrating the strong momentum of cooperation between the two sides. The cooperation between the two sides is mainly driven by China’s promotion of the Digital Silk Road and Malaysia’s demand for digital transformation，as well as the catalysis of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the strong momentum of digital economic cooperation between the two sides，factors such as the imperfect digital platform in Malaysia，the policy of data localization，the insufficient participation of small and medium-sized enterprises，the “semi-mature” state of digital human resources and the competition from other partners have affected the further promotion of digital economic cooperation between the two sides. Although the cooperation between the two sides faces many challenges，if properly handled，the prospects for China-Malaysia digital economic cooperation are still quite promising. In the future，China and Malaysia will make great achievements in promoting green development of digital economy，digital anti-pandemic，network security and other fields.
